We’re excited to share our plans for 2026—all informed by the results of GGCA’s first annual survey. Sent out via our listserv and social media on January 6, 2026, the survey was completed by 86 residents who told us about themselves and the types of GGCA topics, events, and programs they’d like to see more of.

Building a more connected, informed, and supportive community

We’ve already started expanding our outreach via social media and newsletter, increasing the number of block leaders, and promoting local businesses.

Making our two commercial corridors safer, cleaner, and more walkable

Lowell Street Corridor 
We’ll continue to drive the City’s enforcement measures to stop the numerous public nuisance, building, and zoning code violations by Suprema Meats.

San Pablo Avenue Corridor 
GGCA has launched a new wave of projects to:

• Reduce litter and illegal dumping through weekly volunteer cleanups of streets, landscaping, and medians, and by obtaining more trash cans and pickups from the City. A key focus is on keeping the Robert Mason Fields sports grounds clean and inviting for sports leagues, students, and residents.
• Improve the pedestrian experience by conducting a walking tour of volunteers to map issues with landscaping, graffiti, pavement, crosswalks, and lighting so that GGCA can start addressing them. We’ll also identify potential locations for public art and engage the community in project planning and installation.
• Establish a sense of place by collaborating with businesses, residents, and staff of schools, parks, and the recreation center on events and activities that create a more dynamic corridor, such as a history walking tour and family-friendly festivals.
